Parastoo Tashakorinia
(CCPA)
I am Parastoo Tashakorinia, a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant accredited by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC). My academic journey began at York University, where I earned an honours bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science and Psychology. Building upon this foundation, I furthered my education at the University of Toronto, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, graduating in 2023 with a professional degree in Physician Assistant studies.
Physician Assistants (PAs) like myself are integral members of the healthcare team, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient care. Grounded in the principles of team-based care, PAs operate under the supervision of licensed physicians while possessing the autonomy to undertake a diverse array of clinical tasks and procedures.
The scope of practice for Physician Assistants in Canada varies slightly across provinces and territories. Nevertheless, PAs like myself contribute significantly to patient care by conducting assessments, interpreting investigations, formulating treatment plans, prescribing medications, assisting in surgical procedures, and ordering/performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
At Dr. Health Family Medicine Clinic, in tandem with our dedicated physician, Dr. Tashakkori Nia, I am equipped to provide a spectrum of compassionate care to our diverse patient community. This includes conducting thorough patient histories, performing physical examinations, ordering appropriate investigations, and devising comprehensive management plans. I am deeply passionate about being an integral part of this clinic, and I am committed to providing a wide range of care to patients from all backgrounds.
